Container vessels for Europe-Iceland service

The seven-years old “Arnafell” is now part of the Samskip fleet

Samskip has acquired the two 909-TEU container vessels “Arnarfell” and “Helgafell”.

Both were already chartered by the company since they were delivered as newbuildings by J J Sietas in Hamburg seven years ago.
Each vessel has an overall length of 138m, a breadth of 21m and a deadweight of 11,143 tonnes. The maximum service speed is 18.4 knots. “Arnarfell” and “Helgafell”   ply on a weekly schedule between Iceland’s capital Reykjavik and European ports, calling Rotterdam, Cuxhaven, Varberg, Aarhus, and the Faroese Islands.
