First contract for new 3D visualisation tool

The contract will see KOGT provide one of the largest National Oil Companies in the Middle East 14 licenses for the new upstream software tool across its global operations. This first order shows as per KOGT how major oil companies are recognising the considerable benefits the technology can bring to reservoir development.

KOGT has taken an industry lead by being the first simulation and visualisation tool developer to take advantage of 3D screen technology, similar to that used by the cinema and gaming industries. Designed to give drilling engineers a better understanding of reservoir dynamics SIM Reservoir presents real time data in 3D graphic form using this cutting-edge technology. The reservoir model pops out of the screen, without the need of special glasses giving users a more realistic image of subsurface structures, and hence helping them to make critical decisions.

Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies (KOGT), a pioneering developer of integrated process simulation and flow assurance solutions, revealed it has won its first contract for its latest 3D visualisation technology, SIM Reservoir.
