The hull of Bernard Schulte Offshore’s latest commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) has arrived at Ulstein Verft from the Crist shipyard in Poland for outfitting. The ship has been designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions AS and, like its predecessor, will have a twin X-Stern for efficient seakeeping and greater uptime.
Designed for walk-to-work operation, the ship will have accommodation for up to 132 persons, a motion-compensated gangway, and a 3D-compensated crane. It will have a diesel-electric propulsion system, a substantial battery package, and will be ‘ready’ to operate on methanol as fuel in the future.
The ship, a sister to Yard number 320, launched at the shipyard on February 23rd, is the fifth walk-to-work vessel that Ulstein has designed and built for the German company.
