Electrical outfitting of LNG tanker Coralius completed
The Coralius is 99.6m long and 17.95m wide
The 5,800m3 dual-fuelled vessel was built by Dutch shipyard Royal Bodewes for Sirius Veder Gas AB, a joint venture between Sirius Shipping and Anthony Veder. The vessel is chartered to Norway’s Skangas AS and has been designed to ship LNG to areas where gas supply via pipeline is currently not feasible.
Alewijnse was contracted by the shipbuilder for the engineering and installation of the ship’s electrical systems. These included the alarm monitoring and control system, the power management system, the main switchboard, the emergency switchboard and the closed-circuit TV installation. Other electrical components installed on board included distribution panels, interior and exterior lighting, transformers, frequency drives, cabling, the fire detection and gas alarm system, and motors for the bow and stern thrusters.
