Spanish shipbuilding and repair company, Zamakona Yards, has used FORAN ship design software in the integrated design and construction of two new reefer vessels, the first of which, Siuana Arctica, has just been launched and is due for delivery to Royal Arctic Line in the summer.

The FORAN computer-aided design and manufacturing software system, which is owned by Spanish engineering group Sener, is intended for use in every phase of ship design in a fully integrated process which results in faster ship construction and lower costs. Royal Arctic Line AS is a seaborne freight and logistics company owned by the Government of Greenland.
