Norwegian LNG carrier operator BW LNG has acquired two 174,000m3 capacity 2011-built vessels from Stena Bulk and is looking to convert both vessels into floating storage and regasification (FSRU) units. The two LNG carriers are the tri-fuelled diesel-electric (TFDE) vessels Stena Crystal Sky and Stena Clear Sky, which have been renamed BW ENN Crystal Sky and BW Clear Sky, respectively.

BW LNG said that the two sister ships “represent excellent versatility and capability for trading, in addition to potential conversion into FSRUs in the future.”

Both LNG carriers will be delivered straight into their charters with Total Energies and China’s ENN Energy.
