Chantier Navale de Marseille busy with ferry repairs

Marseille’s CNdM specialises in cruise and ferry repairs (Source: CNdM)

One of the Mediterranean’s busiest repair yards is Chantier Navale de Marseille (CNdM), which operates the largest drydock in the region and specialises in cruise ship and ferry work.

Undergoing repairs on February 29th were the following vessels:

  • Saipem Constellation – 48,949gt 2014-built ultra-deepwater offshore pipelay crane vessel, owned by Singapore’s EMAS AMC and operated by Italy’s Saipem, Milan
  • Splendid – 39,255gt 1994-built RoPax ferry, owned by Italy’s Grandi Navi Veloci
  • Cruise Europa – 54,310gt 2009-built RoPax ferry, owned by Italy’s Grimaldi Group and operated by Minoan Lines Highspeed
  • Girolata – 28,417gt 1995-built RoPax ferry, owned by France’s La Meridionale, Marseille
