Singapore-based X-Press Feeders took delivery towards the end of June of another landmark vessel in shipping’s fuel transition - the first methanol dual fuel retrofit.

The 1,170 TEU-capacity Eco Umande, delivered by China’s New Dayang Shipbuilding earlier this year, has just emerged from Zhoushan Pacific Ocean Engineering Co., Ltd. after being converted into a duel fuel methanol vessel.

X-Press Feeders currently has 14 methanol-ready container ships under construction at various Chinese shipyards. Further methanol retrofits are now expected at this shipyard following the successful conversion of the 16,226 gt Eco Umande.
