The Boskalis-owned 4,500m3 capacity 2014-built TSHD Strandway is now back in service following her near three-week repair period at Damen Shiprepair’s Harlingen yard which was completed at the end of the first week of March.

Throughout the project, overseen by Belgium’s maintenance dredging services specialist V.H.F.R. Group, the team multitasked and provided guidance and support to the crew where necessary, assisting with various tasks, including welding and drawing preparation.

V.H.F.R. Group also supervised the installation of Icaf (Impressed Current Antifouling) anodes and aluminium anodes, box coolers and hydraulic engineering jobs, such as replacing bottom door cylinders etc.

Meanwhile, undergoing repair at this yard on March 11th were a total of three vessels, including two OSVs recently sold by Holland’s Vroon Offshore Services, as part of its major restructuring operation.

The two OSVs in question were the 1,794gt 2012-built VOS Sweet, now renamed 4 Winds, and the VOS Star, 2,030gt 2016-built, now renamed Aquarius G. The names of the new owners of the two OSVs aren’t known.

The third vessel undergoing repair on the same date at the Harlingen repair yard was the 3,744gt 2020-built LNG-powered catamaran ferry Willem de Vlamingh, owned by Holland’s Rederij Doeksen. This vessel operates in the Wadden Sea between the islands of Vlieland and Terschelling.
