The Disney Dream has completed an extensive 28-day refurbishment at Brest repair yard, marking the facility’s longest cruise project to date. The 340m-long vessel underwent sustainability upgrades, major mechanical work, life-saving equipment maintenance, and an interior transformation including the addition of a new duplex ‘funnel suite’ which pays homage to Disney’s Fantasia.
A new Mexican restaurant is being added, as well as a concierge lounge, and an increased number of treatment rooms in the vessel’s spa.
The project required 1,000 twenty-foot containers of materials and seven cranes operating simultaneously, all meticulously coordinated to ensure an on-time completion. Later this year, the Disney Fantasy is scheduled to undergo a similar overhaul at Brest.
