Dubai-based shipowner Triships Eships, the maritime logistics division of the UAE’s Triships Group, has selected Wärtsilä’s Decarbonisation Services to support its decarbonising operations. The Wärtsilä system will initially be fitted to two chemical tankers in the company’s fleet – the 25,039dwt 2020-built Solar Nesrin and the 50,000dwt 2016-built Silver Muna.

The analysis to be undertaken on the two tankers includes Wärtsilä’s EnergoFlow, EnergoProFin, optimised propeller, shaft generator and the capability to operate on biofuel.

“We are committed to finding efficient solutions to reduce our emissions footprint. Wärtsilä’s Decarbonisation Services is an important tool in helping us achieve this goal. Partnering with Wärtsilä will increase our depth of knowledge and understanding of the technologies to raise efficiency levels, and therefore reduce emissions,” said Tim Coffin, CEO of Tristar Eships.

“With increasing pressure to decarbonise, knowing which solutions and technologies will deliver the most cost-optimal route to decarbonisation today, and in the future, is important. Our Decarbonisation Services are an integral part of our overall decarbonisation strategy, meaning we can best support customers, like Tristar Eships, with effectively managing their carbon footprint,” added Rajan Khanna, Head of Sales – Middle East – Wärtsilä Marine.
