BLRT Grupp’s Tallinn shipyard has begun the ambitious modernisation of its trusted FD 2 Dock, marking a significant investment in the yard’s future. The dock, a key asset for years, is now out of service for a major upgrade aimed at improving efficiency, operational capacity, and sustainability.
The 105-day project is no small feat, involving complex technical upgrades and the coordination of many operations. The dock will benefit from new ballast and pumping systems for faster docking, upgraded electrical systems for enhanced power distribution, and fire suppression improvements for increased safety.
Additionally, a large-scale steel renewal is underway to reinforce the dock’s structure, ensuring it can support even the most demanding projects in the future. As part of BLRT Grupp’s commitment to sustainability, the modernisation includes enhancements to the wastewater collection system and the installation of a new sewage treatment plant, aligning with the latest environmental regulations.
This project is another step in the company’s ongoing investment programme, highlighting its commitment to innovation and the evolution of ship repair to meet the challenges of the future.
