The ship repair and conversion scene in the Italian port of Genoa is a vibrant one, with a number of major players in the market, including San Giorgio del Porto and T. Mariotti. However, one thing remains the same, all of the port’s drydocks are owned by the Port Authority and operated by well-established, public-controlled company Ente Bacini.

On March 4th nearing the completion of her scheduled drydocking in the port’s largest floating dock was Italian ferry operator Moby Line’s 69,5000gt RoPax ferry Moby Fantasy, built in 2022. Also undergoing repair on the same date were:

  • Moby Vinci – 39,798gt 2004-built RoPax ferry, owned by Moby Lines,  this vessel has now been sold to Italian ferry operator GNV (Grandi Navi Veloci) and is being renamed GNV Auriga, and will operate on the Genoa-Porto Torres service
  • Mega Andrea – 34,419gt 1986-built RoPax ferry, owned by Corsica Ferries

  • Mega Express Two – 26,024gt 2001-built RoPax ferry, owned by Corsica Ferries
  • Moby Drea – 32,528gt 2015-built RoPax ferry, owned by Moby Lines
