Norway’s Kongsberg Maritime has launched a new range of Azimuth thrusters that can be attached and removed from a vessel without the need for dry-docking.
The new UUC PM 355 thruster is an underwater mountable unit with a 3.7m propeller and a 4.2 MW power output. The new thruster is ideal for a variety of different vessel types, including drillships. Windfarm vessels and production vessels and features a permanent magnet (PM) motor, delivering 81 tonnes of bollard pulls.
The UUC PM 355 is also of a compact design, with less space required in the machinery room.
