Namibia’s Namdock and Namport’s Syncrolift busy with repair work

The South West African harbour of Walvis Bay, Namibia has become something of a ship repair hub for the region in recent years, with good facilities offered by the large Namibia Drydock & Ship Repair (Pty) Ltd (NAMDOCK) large ship repair facility, while smaller vessels are catered for at the Namport Syncrolift facility next door.

On July 1, Namdock was repairing the following vessels:

 

  • Greatship Ramya – 3,764gt 2010 - built offshore well intervention vessel, owned by India’s Greatship Group
  • Bourbon Liberty 161 – 1,764gt 2014 - built PSV, owned Bourbon Offshore Greenmar Ltd., Marseille
  • Ngol Kwanza – 5,833dwt 1999 - built product tanker, owned by Angola’s Sonangola, Luanda
  • Pacific Dragon – 6,641gt 2014  -built offshore anchor-handling tug (AHT) owned by Swire Pacific Offshore (Cyprus)
