ST Engineering officially inaugurated its new shipyard at 55 Gul Road last week, acquired in February 2023 for USD 95 million. The Gul Yard is set to enhance the Group's competitiveness in the ship repair segment, replacing its Tuas Yard, whose lease expires at the end of 2024.

Twice the size of its predecessor, the Gul Yard will handle larger and more complex projects. The increased capacity aims to reduce turnaround times and better serve local naval requirements, while also allowing ST Engineering to tap into markets for offshore renewables, refits and upgrades.

The new shipyard will work in tandem with ST Engineering’s Benoi Yard. Tan Leong Peng, President of ST Engineering Marine, shared plans to invest USD 60 million in new infrastructure and technology, “...to acquire new capabilities,” he said. “There are also plans to have similar digital advancements at our Benoi Yard. With both yards at the cutting edge of technology, we can then leverage their combined strengths to unlock new opportunities locally and globally, contributing to Singapore’s continued growth as a global leader in the maritime industry.”
