Following drydocking at China’s Zhoushan Zhongtian Heavy Industry (ZTHI), Torm Gabriella has rejoined the fleet with upgraded energy-saving technologies, after completing its third special survey (SS3) and CAP1 repairs.

Key measures include a full underwater hull blasting and the application of a fuel-efficient silicon-based coating; and a Mewis duct and propeller boss cap fin to enhance hydrodynamic performance. Several energy-optimisation projects were also implemented during the dry dock. These include the installation of a main engine electric pre-heater, flow meters for both engines and cargo systems, and low-temperature valves. An ultrasound cooler has also been added to improve thermal management.

The vessel's digital infrastructure has been upgraded with connected machinery software enhancements, aimed at improving operational efficiency and monitoring capabilities. The upgrades are part of efforts to enhance fuel efficiency, reduce emissions, and improve overall vessel performance. The modifications align with industry trends toward more sustainable and cost-effective maritime operations.
